After traveling to fish the SOHO for many days over the last decade, Jonathan decided to make the dream for a fly shop a reality. He wanted to create a place where everyone could come before and after a day on the water. The Fly Box is a place where beginners, advanced anglers, and guides can gather as one fishing community.

With a fly rod in hand since the age of 10, Cy’s path to becoming a full-time guide was a natural one. After years of fishing the South Holston and Watauga Rivers and relocating to East Tennessee in 2017, he has dedicated himself to time on the water—guiding more than 150 days a year for over nine years.
As Head Guide, Cy leads by example, ensuring every trip delivers a professional, memorable day on the river.

Forrest was practically born with a fly rod in his hand. Around the shop he is known as a jack of all trades. If he isn’t guiding or managing the shop, you can probably find him chasing around his two daughters.

Lovingly known as “River Mama”, Chelsia started
fly-fishing to keep up with her kids then found herself falling in love with the sport. After listening to many of Jonny’s crazy ideas, she knew that The Fly Box had to happen. At the shop, she keeps the books and the Deli squared away.
